Basuki Told Jokowi to Focus on River and Reservoir

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), accompanied Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) for impromptu visit (blusukan) in two location yesterday (Thursday, 9/3). Both of them were seen discussing capital's problem during in the car.

Basuki admitted that the president delivered some questions to him, such as the 2018 Asian Games preparation.

"Mr. Jokowi asked about Asian Games and Light Rapid Transit (LRT)" Basuki said, Friday (9/4).

Basuki will Audit SMPN 49 Construction

Basuki explained that his focus in the next two years is in river and reservoir normalization. He wants to reduce the flood in the capital. Kampung Pulo relocation is one of the ways in normalizing Ciliwung River.

Relocation for slum areas will be done gradually. The residents will be moved into the flat. Slum area is surely disadvantaging many sides, especially when fire occurs. Dept. of Fire Fighter and Rescue will have difficulty accessing the location.

"Mr. Jokowi supported if we must pay 1.5 times for the controlled resident's land," he stated.

Relocation is focused in riverbank, reservoir, and water channel.
